Website Optimization

Website Optimization
Search Engine Optimization or SEO is such a process that improves the internal & external feature of a website.  The process helps to increase the organic visibility for search engines. A Website Optimizer edits the code and contents to make the website more search engine friendly. It also promotes the site to make more applicable on the web. Search engines analyze the website content to determine when and where the website displays on a search engine result page. There lies the work of an SEO, that helps to increase the ranking, to be visible as fast as someone search the relative content on a search engine.

HISTORY OF THE INTERNET & WEBSITE
Invention of the Internet is a revolutionary work for mankind & it was started in 1980 with the hand of Tim Berners-Lee who built ‘ENQUIRY’ as a personal database of people and software models, but also as a way to play with hypertext; each new page of information in ENQUIRE had to be linked to an existing page. With this, a threshold of a new era is opened. But till 1990, this idea was not implemented with eagerness. Accompanied by Robert Cailliau, Berners-Lee shared the idea to the European Conference on Hypertext Technology in September 1990 but found no result. By Christmas 1990, Berners-Lee had built all the tools necessary for a working Web: the HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) 0.9, the HyperText Markup Language (HTML), the first Web browser (named WorldWideWeb, which was also a Web editor), the first HTTP server software (later known as CERN HTTPd), the first web server (http://info.cern.ch), and the first Web pages that described the project itself. The browser could access Usenet newsgroups and FTP files as well. Nicola Pellow, therefore, created a simple text browser that could run on almost any computer called the Line Mode Browser. To encourage use within CERN, Bernd Pollermann put the CERN telephone directory on the web — previously users had to log onto the mainframe in order to look up phone numbers. In January 1991, the first Web servers outside CERN itself were switched on. From then the Internet has revolutionized the computer and communications world like nothing before.
IMPORTANCE OF DESIGN IN WEBSITE
A good look is always admirable & in the case of a website, a good design plays some important roles and so designing a website, is very sensitive & important matter to be looked after carefully. The design of a website is important because it affects how quickly visitors can find what they are looking for.  If it is difficult or frustrating, the visitor will leave and try on another site – and that is a lost opportunity. The work of website design is performed by specialist IT professionals who build the website using computer programming language that is understood by web browsers, normally HTML or JavaScript. Technically, the art of web design is very difficult since the website needs to be aesthetically attractive and have excellent usability, which means that the visitors must find the website user-friendly and eye-catching. The importance of web design and its impact on the web is a globally accepted fact these days. There are many reasons why a well-designed website will attract the ideal customer for the firm. The followings are the basic of a well-designed website.
Navigation —
Possibly the most important part of a website is the navigation. The navigation of a website can make or break a site, which is especially true for robust websites with many pages. Website navigation typically includes a navigation bar or list of labels that differentiate the pages of the website. Good navigation should be easy to find and comprehend – making for quick and easy travel throughout the entire website.
Aesthetics —
One thing is clear: a website has to look good.  But it’s extremely important to keep usability. The design should lead the eye from what’s most important to secondary items; this can be done with space and typography. And a professional, modern look can immediately build trust. The good design will create trust and guide the visitors to take action.
A Visual Spark —
It must have a spark on the website that appeals to people, something that catches eyes. The internet is a visual medium and thus, it is so important to use the elements in a sparkling way.
Content —
The content of the site is important because it literally communicates the company’s brand position and promise. Making the content short and to the point (according to the need) helps the reader to remember the message easily.
Organization —
Everything in a website needs to have a logical place to help the visitors, easily to find what they are looking for. Thus, the whole website should be designed in an organized way.
Responsive Website —
One of the big buzzwords for web design of the last couple of years has been ‘responsive’. It has become a need for a website design that can respond to all screen sizes having become integral to online success.
